Home visit & Installation

How long will my first home visit take?

Please allow at least an hour, but this will depend on your requirements. Your first home appointment is an opportunity for us to measure up and discuss the styles and options available. You’ll get all the information you need to bring your project to life and receive a free, no-obligation quote.

What happens next after I accept my quotation?

We’ll call you to arrange for an Anglian surveyor to measure-up and make sure installation goes to plan. You’ll need to read and sign the paperwork during this visit. The survey includes taking photographs of your original windows/doors/conservatory. If applicable, we’ll check floor levels and drainage, detail rights of way and check what access equipment will be needed. You’ll receive updates via your preferred contact method as your order progresses.

Will a survey be carried out after purchasing the product?

Yes. Our surveyor will double-check the initial measurements taken to make sure your product fits perfectly. It’s also an opportunity to ask any questions about your order, planning permission and next steps.

Are your surveyors qualified?

Anglian surveyors are NVQ level 3 qualified for a consistent high quality of service to you.

Do I need a lawyer/solicitor for planning permission?

Anglian will look after all aspects of planning. There’s no need for you to seek any legal advice, this is all taken care of for you by our National Administration Centre. Please note it is your responsibility to advise us if your property is in a conservation area.

Do I need to prepare my house before installation?

It may seem obvious, but please try to ensure that any ornaments or clutter are taken away from the area where we’re going to install your products. It’s a good idea to leave at least a metre of working space around windows and doors, removing curtains to prevent unwanted damage. Our installers are happy to help you to clear the space when they arrive. This provides us with room to lay sheets down and keep mess to a minimum. When we’re done, we’ll always clean up and leave your home as we found it.

Do I need to be at home for the installation?

Yes. You’ll need to arrange for someone to be present during the installation. We’ll need you (the homeowner) there on the date of completion to ensure you’re happy with the completed installation, and so the team can run you through product aftercare.

Are your installers qualified?

Anglian installers are either qualified to an NVQ level 2 or have MTC training to ensure their work is to a consistent high standard.

Can you deal with asbestos found in my roof?

The health and safety of our customers and our installers is extremely important to Anglian and we take asbestos very seriously. Our surveyor will inspect your existing soffits, gutters and cement verges to establish if asbestos material is suspected. If so, a small sample will be taken and sent for analysis by a UKAS-accredited laboratory to determine its fibre type. Any asbestos waste is disposed of in a controlled and safe manner, in accordance with Special Waste Regulations.

Do Anglian door locks meet the requirements of home contents insurance providers?

Most home contents insurance providers offer their policyholders a discount for having a satisfactory level of security at the home. This includes key operated locks on accessible widows and an approved locking mechanism on doors. While we cannot comment on every insurance provider’s acceptance criteria, we are satisfied that the security measures our windows and doors provide exceed the minimum requirements.
